CALIPA Academy

Do you still see the bigger picture when you hear yet another stream of alarming news about a trade war with China, the future of our economy, a new recession and major job losses, our steadily shrinking savings, soaring taxes, the risks of robotisation and automation, and the economic and political power of big tech companies?

Let alone being able to properly assess the impact of all this on your organisation and what may still lie ahead:

  • How can companies protect themselves against a new trade war?

  • What will a new recession mean for our industry?

  • Are financial markets still reliable?

  • What is the economic impact of AI?

  • Do robots and automation really threaten our jobs?

  • How exposed are we to a new crisis?

To support you in addressing these and other essential economic questions in a targeted way, we offer a range of services at different levels:

BEGINNER: Targeted basic support

We offer a wide range of courses and training programmes on current economic topics. Our courses are highly interactive and do not aim at one-way knowledge transfer. Instead, they focus on practical applications within the policy context of the European Union. In addition, they include numerous exercises, case studies, debate topics, and quizzes, both in group settings and individually.

ADVANCED and EXPERT: Comprehensive customised support

We also offer specialised training programmes on current European economic issues for international diplomats, business leaders, and high-level professionals from Belgium and abroad. These programmes immerse participants in the latest economic developments in the European Union and worldwide. They support professionals in their daily work and provide a complete and in-depth overview of current issues and emerging policy priorities within the EU. They are generally more complex than the courses offered under the BEGINNER track and often require prior economic knowledge. The programmes are non-academic in nature and focus on practical applications in concrete policy contexts. They are highly interactive and include numerous exercises, case studies, debate topics, and quizzes, both in group settings and individually.
